Jean Paul Home Visit

Jean Paul

A whole family surviving on one dollar a day

A mother of three young boys, Gerardine BAMPIRE lives in the small village in Butare, Rwanda. Her middle son Jean Paul HABIYAREMYE is one of the kids we support, his mother suffers from a disease of the veins. She is the poorest amongst all the families we support, as she survives on digging gardens and earns $1 a day. She also cuts grass in the forest and sells it to farmers. Recently, she received food support, medical insurance and medication. During the time she was receiving medical care, the children were placed with neighbors to watch over them. Jean Paul along with many other children in this village suffer from malnutrition, and are hoping to find sponsors soon.

A love donation from the U.S. provided short term support for Jean Paul's family

The family home

Jean Paul receives lunch every day at school so his mother doesn't have to worry about lunch, like many other children in Rwanda this is the only meal they get per day. During Saturday Bible Connect Jean Paul also receives a hot meal from BAF.

Jean Paul helps his mom with chores, like fetching water and collecting firewood.
