BAF T-Shirts!

New T-Shirts!

How a new T-shirt can change a child

One item we’ve been desiring right from the beginning when the kids started coming for Saturday Bible Connect were Bright Africa T-shirts. We never expected the kids to be so excited and joyful for their new shirts.

Bright Africa T-shirts are a unique way to identify the children in the community and highlight our own children. Most of the kids in the community don’t have any clean clothes they can wear anywhere, but only school uniforms for those few who have them. Most children will always show up in dirty and torn clothes every time you call or invite them, because that is all they have.

The huge impact of one loving donation!

A shirt for every child

All 50 BAF children received new embroidered T-shirts. It was an amazing day for the whole Rwandan village. We had an amazing experience while handing out these new T-shirts to the children. The children couldn’t stop smiling and pausing for pictures as they would keep calling “natwe natwe, nange nange”(me too, we too). They all were so happy and kept asking me to show them the pictures I had just taken. “We will not spill food on our T-shirts” Jesca said.

The T-shirts are a great uniform for our Saturday bible connect and it takes the BAF children to a whole new level of feeling loved. We talked to the parents of the children so the T-shirts will only be used for the activities and events planned by BAF, this is to make sure the T-shirts are not used by other family members or even the child in other activities.

A sense of family and unity

As the kids walk to and from Saturday Bible Connect these bright beautiful shirts will always identify them and anyone looking at them will know where they're from. Right after I made the first post of the kids wearing the T-shirts, so many people reacted and asked me how we came up with the color, some of my Rwandan friends keep asking me where I got the T-shirts. What an amazing impact to the whole village!

The cost of the T-shirts was $200 and a love donation to purchase these T-shirts was given by a loving family in the United States. This donation has impacted these beautiful children and their smiles are as bright as the yellow they are wearing. -Eric IRADUKUNDA
